 Well, here we are at the end of 2009, a challenging, and exciting year. After finishing “The Way We Roll Tour” this past fall, we have dived back into the studio. It’s such a different head space than touring. We feel this new record we’re working on is a pivotal point in our career and we look forward with excitement and expectation. This record is turning out to be not only some of the best newsboys songs I’ve heard, but some of the finest vocal performances of Michael’s and our career. Our passion, enthusiasm and focus are off the charts! With the big changes the band went through this past year, we knew our work was cut out for us. At every show, we felt we had something to prove… and we had to win. Kind of the same feeling we had when we first jetted to the US full of drive, passion and purpose. This mission has not changed. These are feelings and emotions we have not felt in a while, and we liked it. As a band, it pulled us closer. It’s been a win-win. Yet this is a change. It will sound different. It has given us on incredible opportunity to reinvent ourselves once again. We’ve been here before and we’ve just gotten stronger. I guess you could call it newsboys 2.0. I’m convinced that this transition is ordered by Lord. There is no way that we could have pulled this off, if that wasn’t the case. My ongoing attempt to stay connected with you, the fans, has been an amazing success. My efforts have been rewarded by an ever-increasing loving community that we’ve built onFacebook . I attempt to and am successful most days to visit and make comments and status updates. This is always been my heart, but up until this social technology was available, it has been impossible. Also, my personal website, DuncanPhillips.net, is being revamped. The look and feel of it will be made well… simpler. Via Twitter, Flickr, Facebook and YouTube I make regular text, photo and video updates. My online store is also expanding with brand new t-shirts, 8×10s, signature drum sticks, drum heads and more. We are definitely stepping it up - we’ll be hitting you guns a blazing! Production, as always, will be world class. Some you’ve seen, some you haven’t. We are ready and hungry….the ‘boys are back in town, so… look out!

Duncan, YOU DA BOMB buddy!! You’ve never led us fans in anything but the truth about what’s going on with newsboys and what’s to come. For that, I thank you. You’ve managed to peak my interest higher than ever with this recap and I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE what you’ve described here!! I hope you and your family had the best Christmas ever this year and they keep getting better every year! You, Jeff Mike and Jody have been a blessing I believe more than you can imagine. Hey Duncan! Im SO excited about newsboys 2.0 hehe…. I cant wait to hear the new music! at first i wasnt sure about Michael as lead for the newsboys.. but after seeing and hearing him in concert He does a great job.
You have Done a Fantastic job of re-connecting with us fans! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done and still do, you all have been a blessing to me.
Looking forward to seeing the new look on this site.

Good Morning Duncan!…Thanks for the recap blog…it is always good to hear how things are going with you and “the boys”…I am so excited about the new album, I am truly stoked about it. Ello Mister Squizz!!! Remember me?? I may go to Winter Jam if I do Ill be getting the backstage passes…that is if I get to and what my mum’s and dads work looks like for the day that I plan on going, if I cant make it I’ll totally drop by on facebook to say “hi”

I’m so pleased that things have progressed so well for you boyz this year! I’m looking forward to my son being old enough to be introduced to y’all in concert… (He’s only 7 months right now, so he wouldn’t understand, although he is fascinated by loud blaring noises and flashing lights, as I discovered when I accidentally set off the fire alarm the other night… lol!) Anyway, hope your Christmas was amazing, and hope your new year is blessed! You’ll see me around on Facebook!

Hey Duncan, One more thing…Winter Jam is going on now and because I have to replace my vehicle I doubt I will get to go. The concerts scheduled are too far away and the rattle trap I drive now would never make the trip…are you going to tour more after Winter Jam? I don’t know how you all do it!..wow…! If you do…put my town on the “map”…or at least close enough I can go…should have a new van by April!…cannot wait! tons of Blessings to you!

Another album already?? Cool! Do you have any idea of when it will be released? I look forward to hearing more of Mike. I’ve only ever heard him in DCTalk and one of his solo songs.
Will you be singing on this album like you did in Going Public?

The record with Mike will be released in May 2010. There is a pre-release 5 song EP coming out in January. These are 5 new songs with Mike. Can’t wait for you to hear the new stuff. I might do some BGV’s on the record…none yet..= )

HEY THERE!
Thanx so much…I got my “I do all my own stunts” tee and 8×10 in the mail today! LOVE IT! Just the right size too…will wear it with my NB converse, NB wristband, and NB sweatshirt! LOL! Now I just need some NB earrings……….wait I know, I’ll wear my super awesome guitar earrings! A perfect outfit! LOL! You’ll spot me in the crowd at creation fest if that’s what I wear that day…. =^)

I totally understand Valerie!…I am just now letting my kids do it…I monitor their walls and really have to be careful…but they are good about it as they know it is for their own good…plus they’re older now than they were so they appreciate the rules…anyway..until then…post here…welcome aboard!

Can’t wait to hear the new album, Duncan, but could you do me a favor? Smile in the pictures! We want to see your smiling faces! There aren’t any pictures of smiling Newsboys in the past two or three albums.
If you want the outside all serious and dramatic, put smiles and grimaces on the inside.
